Silly Saturdays - Temper Temper Reagan

REAGAN (Summer 2008) - I love watching old home movies.  It's so fun to look back on those days when the girls were so little with their personalities just poking through.  I had to laugh when I came to this clip of Reagan around a year old.  I should have known back then that Reagan was going to be a super loud short tempered little girl.  This is where it all started.  In our hotel room at the happiest place - Disneyland.

Silly Saturdays - Catching Flies

I love the faces of sleeping kids. They're so angelic, so peaceful, and so ... so ... hilarious!  Last night we were driving home from picking up some dinner when Reagan conked out.  You always know when one of the girls falls asleep because there's suddenly a sense of peace that washes over the car.  Oh the sweet sound of no fighting.  Then we get home and I realize that even Riley has been quiet for awhile so I look back to find both my girls catching flies in the exact same position.  The only difference is that my oakie of a daughter doesn't like to wear clothes if she doesn't have to.  Look at that beer belly hanging out.  It's pictures like these that make me realize how much I'm going to miss my sweet little girls when they get older.  Luckily I have my camera and this blog to document it all.

Silly Saturdays - When photo shoots go bad...

Ok, I guess this is more like a Wordless Wednesday since it's a picture, but it just cracks me up every time I look at it.  My sister was trying to get some good pictures of our sons together and it ended up turning into a down right brawl.  I'm pretty sure Max was pissed that Linc was sharing the camera spotlight with him and decided to try and take Linc out.  Yes, that's my poor boy getting beat up.  Don't worry.  Linc and I are currently trying to work on some comeback moves so he can be better prepared next time we're visiting Mr. Max here.  Watch out Max!

Silly Saturdays - Explosions!

LINCOLN - January 5th 2012

Don't you hate it when you're in a super quiet waiting room and your newborn decides they want to take the biggest crap so that everyone can hear it at least a mile away???  Oh yes... Lincoln decided while we were in the waiting room for his 2 month checkup to blow it up with a vengeance.  The explosive sound startled me as the room suddenly got silent and my eyes widened with surprise.  All I could do was smile apologetically at the two ladies that stared at me with fear in their eyes across the way.  Oh the joys of newborn poop.

Silly Saturdays - My stinky girls

I decided to read through the girls silly moments journals and was cracking up.  Here are two I found that I thought I'd share with you.

REAGAN - 12/8/08 (1 yr)
While staying at a hotel on our Disneyland vacation Reagan slept with Brian and I.  When Reagan woke up in the morning we just laid there for awhile watching TV.  All of a sudden Reagan let out this bug fart then whipped her head around looking at Brian and yelled "DaDa !!!" in disgust.  We busted up laughing and couldn't stop.

RILEY - 3/4/10 (4 yrs)
Brian told Riley that she needed to take a bath because she stunk.  Riley said "I don't stink!"  I told Riley she needs a bath because her hair looks gross.  Riley said "I know my hair looks gross, but I don't stink!".

Silly Saturdays - Mom's a Big Chicken!

Another new feature of 2012!  Silly Saturdays is a place where I can highlight the funny things that happened during the week.  A couple years ago I started journals for each of the girls where I wrote all the funny things they said or did.  It's so fun to look back on those hilarious moments  Unfortunately I didn't keep up with them and I wish I had.  As a way to revive that documentation and to remember these precious moments I'm starting up Silly Saturdays.  Hope you enjoy and find these moments as comical as I do.

Friday, January 6th 2012 - Brian's out of town this weekend so I'm home alone with the kids.  Depending on what I watch on TV before I go to bed, I can be quite the chicken about being home alone.  Well I thought I was doing good till my stereo system decided to freak out and blare static over our surround system right before I headed to bed.  Needless to say my heart was pounding.  I tried to pull myself together and go to sleep, but my mind started freaking out about loud noises.  I decided to go drag the girls into my bed so I wouldn't have to sleep alone.  I woke up Riley first and told her she could come sleep in my bed tonight.  I thought she would be excited.  Nope, she just looked at me and said "No Mom.  I'm too tired.  I'll come lay with you when I wake up."  OMG!  I can't believe she shot me down.  Arg!  I knew I couldn't just take Reagan to my room because I didn't want to leave Riley by herself so I started to head back to my room, but I really didn't think I could sleep alone, so I tried again.  Once again Riley shot me down saying she was too tired.  I was just about to head to bed defeated, but I really didn't think I could sleep alone so I tried one last time with the promise that I would carry her to my room.  She agreed!  Reagan took two seconds to convince to come have a sleepover with us.  Having my girls in my room I slept like a baby ... surrounded by my babies ... although evidently I'm the biggest baby of them all.  : )
