Bummis - Tots Bots S-T-R-E-T-C-H Bamboozle Review

Bummis Tots Bots Stretch Bamboozle
Have you tried the Bummis Tots Bots Easy Fit?  I've tried both the Easy Fit and the Tiny Fit, and I love them both!  I love the clean look of them and the hook and loop closures are awesome!  That said, I was totally excited to try one of the Bummis Tots Bots Stretch Bamboozles.  Same great shape and the same great hook and loop closures as the Easy Fit, only in a fitted diaper.  Out of all the fitted diapers I'm testing this month, this is my only hook and loop fitted diaper.  I was kind of excited about that because I love hook and loop so much.  So how did it work out for us?  Check out my full review below.

Performance Review:

Bummis Tots Bots Stretch Bamboozle - on my baby
Ease Of Use: ♥♥♥♥ -  You can't get much easier than a hook and loop diaper.  This diaper is so easy to put on and adjustments via the snap down rise are fast and simple.  The one thing I don't like about this diaper is that the soaker snaps into the front of the diaper instead of the back.  I guess it always keeps the absorbency where it's needed, but it's just a bit awkward to put on.  It's really just a personal preference though.  I'm used to all soakers being snapped into the back.

Adjustability & Fit: ♥♥♥♥♥ - The stretch and fit of this diaper is very nice.  Since it's a two size system you get a really good fit without extra bulk on smaller babies.  I also love just how trim this diaper is.  I'm pretty sure you can't get much trimmer.  Most fitted diapers look extremely bulky, but this diaper is actually quite the opposite.  It's trimmer than almost any diaper I own.

Leak Protection: ♥♥♥♥ - Once in awhile this diaper will soak all the way through without a cover on, but normally he will just feel cool or damp.  I will say you need to fully prep this diaper before it will preform well.  We had leaks in the beginning.  At night I had no problems though.  We had no leaks at all.  Jess & Kam (our other testers) also had a great experience with this diaper.  In the end I think this is a great diaper as far as absorbency.  *Please note that this diaper needs a cover in order to be waterproof*

Wash Routine: ♥♥♥♥♥ -  Since this diaper is a hook and loop diaper, you have to remember to secure the hook closures to the laundry tabs or you'll end up with some snagged diapers.  I also noticed after washing this diaper that it got tattered looking pretty quickly.  You wouldn't guess that I've only used it a month.  It looks more like a year.  This diaper also took awhile to dry.  I always had to put it in with my second dry which took about 105 minutes.

Bang For The Buck: ♥♥♥♥♥ - This diaper is about average price for a mainstream fitted diaper.  You will need to size up to the second size if you start with the size 1.

Quality & Durability: ♥♥♥♥♥ -  Like I said before, I was not impressed with the quality and durability of this diaper.  After 1 month it looks like I've used it a year.  It's mostly because of the serging on this diaper, but even the fabric itself seems to get lint buildup which also makes it appear older than it is.  I will say that I love the hook and loop on this diaper though.  It's the best!

The Look: ♥♥♥♥ -  The look is pretty average on this diaper.  I do like the colors available, but like most other mainstream fitted diapers, there is something lacking when prints are not available.

In Conclusion:
I love the trim fit of this diaper and am amazed at how much liquid it can hold being so trim.  I also love the easy hook and loop closures.  It's pretty hard to find a hook and loop fitted diaper.  I just don't like the plain look and how tattered this diaper got so fast.  If I was to get this diaper again, I would use it for nighttime use or with a cover during the day.  I would also recommend it to those that want a fitted diaper without the bulk.  This is an amazingly trim diaper!

  3. I think if we switched to fitteds I would like to try hook and loop as well, to make things quicker and easier. That way, I wouldn't have to fool with snaps on the diaper AND the cover! Anne Sweden

    1. My thoughts exactly. I like one or the other to be H&L so I don't have to do two with snaps.

  4. I like velcro fitteds, but I don't like when the diaper itself gets pilly. My microfiber inserts get pilly and I make the kids pick them LOL

  8. I've thought so many times about trying these. After hearing how it tatters from washing, I'm kinda glad I haven't jumped and gotten one yet. The H&L closure is a nice option since most fitteds are snapped.

    1. It really bothered me at first, but in the end these are still one of my faves. I'm a sucker for H&L and I love that they're trim and super absorbent.
