Fluffy Tips #2 - Hang Wall Hooks Above Your Changing Table

One of the most used features I have at Lincoln’s diaper changing station are the hooks I attached to the wall just above the changing table. This is the perfect spot to hang three or four hooks to hang your diaper covers on while they are drying in between changes. Hooks are also great to hang pajamas or an extra outfit so you don’t have to leave your child un-attended on the table. I also keep a toy or two hanging on a hook for Linc to play with while I change his diapers.

You can get hooks in all sorts of shapes, colors, and sizes. I got nickel ones for my first daughter’s modern nursery. I got ones in the shape of anchors for my second daughter’s under the sea nursery. I got bronze rustic ones for Linc’s woodsy cabin nursery. The options are endless. It’s a very inexpensive addition with a whole lot of function.

  3. so my question is, do they not try to grab the diaper to pull on it, and would that not hurt the PUL on the cover?

    1. I've yet to have Linc grab one of the diaper covers, but my wall is actually a lot further back than it looks in the picture. My changing table has a back panel and the wainscot paneling on the wall is pretty thick as well. As for the hook hurting the PUL... the hooks I choose have very soft edges. I also barely hang them on the hook, so if he did happen to pull on it, the diaper would instantly fall off instead of messing up the PUL. I've used the hooks with my girls as well and they too have never pulled on the items that I hang from them. I guess it depends on the kid though.

  4. Awesome idea, may hve to give it a try with command hooks for a trial period. Hey you mentioned having done a girls under the sea room for your 2nd daughter. I love that idea. Based on pictures of Lincoln's room I bet it was great. Much more detailed than my DS themed room was. And anchor hooks sound super cute too. We have had ocean themed room (not very decorated or "themed" overall) for DS since he was born. DD 3mo will move in there once out of cradle some time fairly soon. Looking for ideas on how to make it more girly and still keep with the theme & use some of the stuff we already have. Would you be willing to share pictures? Or are there some buried here in your blog someplace?

    1. I loved my DD's under the sea room. Too bad my kids never sleep in their rooms. Haha! I do change diapers in there though. I'm actually an interior designer. I've halted all projects since having #3 though. I might even take down my website, but here's the link while it's still up. Hope it gives you some great ideas. : ) http://www.shannalynninteriors.com/portfolio/under-sea-nursery/page-1.htm

  5. Bummer, maybe 3rd time is the charm, i have tried to post x3. Since this is 3rd attempt will make it shorter & more to the point. Great idea! Think I'll give it trial run with colored Command hooks. You mentioned having done girls under the sea theme with 2nd daughter. Sounds like an awesome idea! Based on pics of Lincoln's room I bet it was great! Would you be willing to share pics? Tips for what you did? Etc...or is that type of thing buried here on your blog someplace already?
