When I first started my cloth diapering research a year ago I did not understand the point of an All-In-Two diaper system. I didn't understand how those little inserts were going to contain anything. How could I possibly use the shell more than one time???? Wouldn't it be gross? Also during my research I came across SoftBums cloth diapers. They had two versions; the Echo and the Omni. The Echo was an All-In-Two system and the Omni was a combo of an All-In-Two / Pocket Diaper. Both had great reviews and both were super cute, but ack! I still wasn't sure about the All-In-Two system. Being the diaper testing girl that I am I decided I would try out the SoftBums Omni. I figured if I hated the All-In-Two feature then at least I had a pocket diaper. Then SoftBums launched their new prints. Man! They were all so cute! Ok, I couldn't resist and I got both an Echo and an Omni. If they flop I just sell them right? Fast forward 6 months. I've been using my SoftBums for 4 months now and I LOVE them!!!! Who would have known I'd love them so much? I love these diapers so much that I was super excited when they came out with the snap versions and even more excited when they asked if I would review one. I ended up choosing to review the Echo snap diaper instead of the Omni (I know! Who would have thunk it??? I chose the All-In-Two!). Check out below to see what I thought of both the Echo and the Omni, as well as what I thought about the new snap version. You might be just as surprised as I was.
SoftBums Diaper Features:
- Style - (Echo = All In Two) / (Omni = All In Two and Pocket)

SoftBums Echo w/Hook & Loop Closure - $21.95 / 6-35 lbs (Overall Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥)
4 mos - 10.5 lbs |
Adjustability & Fit: ♥♥♥♥♥ - I can get an amazing fit with this diaper. The hook and loop closure gives me a perfect fit every time on the waist and the toggle system gives me a perfect fit on the legs. I can adjust them the tiniest fraction of an inch. I could even get a super great fit right after Linc was born. These diapers get pretty small (by small I mean Linc was a little over 8 lbs). I also LOVE the trim fit of this diaper. That has to be my favorite part along with the toggle. I love how skinny they are between the legs so that Linc's legs can actually come together unlike a lot of other diapers he has.
Leak Protection: ♥♥♥♥♥ - These diapers have been pretty good as far as leak protection. During the day I use either a DryTouch Pod or an Organic Bamboo Pod. At night I add one of the Mini Pods to the main pod and have no leaks. I did have leaks when I used them in the newborn phase, but that might be because I was only using the Organic Bamboo Mini Pod, and not the DryTouch Mini Pod. I also noticed that if Linc made an extreme poop I could see the poop color coming through the leg seam holes. It was not enough to get on clothing, but enough to show yellow coloring. I'm not sure if all three of my SoftBums do this and I just don't notice because the other two are darker colors, or if this particular diaper is just defective.
Wash Routine: ♥♥♥♥♥ - For the most part the wash routine is very easy. The shells wash up very nicely and are very fast to dry on my drying rack. The pods wash up well and dry fast in the dryer. My only complaint is that the laundry tabs are not reliable. I have no problem when I fold the wings back and attach them to each other though. Watch my video to see how to do this.
Bang For The Buck: ♥♥♥♥♥ - I think this diaper system is a great deal. Not only is it a One Size system that actually fits a newborn, but it's also an All In Two system so you can actually get on average three uses out of each diaper. If you buy the Echo DryTouch 3 Pack that comes out to roughly $12 per diaper change. Great deal!!!
Quality & Durability: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Overall I feel like the quality and durability of this diaper is good. It still looks in great condition after 4 months of use. The only downfalls are the hook and loop closure and some of the prints. It seems like the hook and loop closure is slightly less strong than it was when I first got it. The bacon and eggs print is also fading a bit. The other two diapers still look great.
Quality & Durability: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Overall I feel like the quality and durability of this diaper is good. It still looks in great condition after 4 months of use. The bacon and eggs print is also fading a bit. The other two diapers still look great.
The Look: ♥♥♥♥♥ - I really like the look of this diaper. I love the bright fun colors and I love the prints they come out with periodically. I wish they carried more prints all the time though. I'm a prints type of girl. I really like the the new promotion they are doing this year with the Calendar Bums though. How fun to have a limited edition color come out each month. I'm a sucker for limited edition.
Ease Of Use: ♥♥♥♥♥ - The snap version is just as easy to use as the hook and loop version. It does take me a bit longer to put the diaper on, but it's a lot faster to take off. I don't have to worry about flipping the wings around and sticking them together before throwing the diaper in my pail. All I have to do is take off the diaper and throw it in my laundry pail.
Ease Of Use: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same great toggle system as the Echo. Same great options with snap or hook and loop closures. Same great snap in pods. The only difference between the Echo and the Omni as far as ease of use is the pocket on the Omni. The pocket is optional to use since you can just use it as an All In Two system if you wish. If you do decide to use the pocket then there is the extra effort of stuffing and un-stuffing, but I find this pocket very easy to stuff and un-stuff since it is so large
If you couldn't tell already, I LOVE SoftBums ! ! ! The real kicker is that I almost didn't even try the Echo version because I didn't think I would like an All In Two system, but I actually like the Echo better. It's just so easy to snap a pod in and go. Not to mention (for the millionth time) that I love the trim fit of the Echo and that I can get several uses out of one diaper. That's not to say that I don't like the Omni. I love the Omni too, but if I had to choose one the Echo would win out. I just can't get past that super trim fit. So Awesome! As far as the snap version and the hook and loop version I'm on the fence. I really like both for different reasons. I love that the snaps will stay nice looking for years to come and I don't have to worry about diaper chains, lint, or remembering to fasten the wings together before throwing them in the wash. I love the hook and loop version because I can get a super custom fit around the waist and they're super fast to put on and take off. I also like the look of the front of the diaper on the hook and loop version better. So I'm up in the air on that one. I think it might take me a bit longer to decide on that one, but so far I'm loving both snaps and hook and loop.So there you have it! I'm a lover of SoftBums ! ! !

SoftBums Echo w/Snap Closure - $21.95 / 6-35 lbs (Overall Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥)
**Refer to the SoftBums Echo Hook and Loop review for all categories below. I've only noted differences specific to the snap version below**
**Refer to the SoftBums Echo Hook and Loop review for all categories below. I've only noted differences specific to the snap version below**
Adjustability & Fit: ♥♥♥♥♥ - All aspects of the fit and adjustability of this diaper are the same as the hook and loop version except for the wing closure. I knocked off one heart for the snap version because I don't feel I can get quite as customized of a fit with snaps. Every once in awhile Linc is in between snaps so I have to decide if I want the waist to be just a little tight or a little loose.
Leak Protection: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same great leak protection as the Echo hook and loop version.
Wash Routine: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same as the Echo hook and loop version except easier because it's snaps. I don't have to worry about the hook and loop sticking to everything and I don't have to worry about picking lint out of the closures. I just throw them in the wash, dry them, and then put them away. So easy!
Bang For The Buck: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same great deal as the Echo hook and loop version.
Quality & Durability: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same great quality as the Echo hook and loop version only I don't have to worry about the hook and loop. The snaps stay great looking forever!
Quality & Durability: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same great quality as the Echo hook and loop version only I don't have to worry about the hook and loop. The snaps stay great looking forever!
The Look: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same great look as the Echo hook and loop version. I'm actually not partial to either the hook and loop version or the snap version. I like the look of them both.

SoftBums Omni (ratings based on H&L) - $21.95 / 6-40 lbs (Overall Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥)
**Refer to the SoftBums Echo Hook & Loop version for the basic performance review. Refer to the SoftBums Echo Snaps version for the snaps review. I've only noted the differences specific to the Omni version below**
**Refer to the SoftBums Echo Hook & Loop version for the basic performance review. Refer to the SoftBums Echo Snaps version for the snaps review. I've only noted the differences specific to the Omni version below**
Adjustability & Fit: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same great adjustability as the Echo. See above for how the snap version and hook and loop versions differ above. The only difference is the fit of the diaper. The Omni diaper is a lot larger between the legs than the Echo version so it fits a little bulkier than the Echo version. Because of this the diaper also fits babies that are larger better than the Echo version. It actually fits babies up to 40 pounds vs 35 pounds for the Echo version. I personally prefer the trim fit of the Echo better, but I might change my tune when Linc gets bigger.
Leak Protection: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same great leak protection as the Echo version. The only difference is now you have a pocket to work with. I find this helpful when it comes to the difference between daytime and nighttime diapering. During the day I use the snap in All In Two system so that I get to use the shell more often. During the night I use a combo of the All In Two system and the pocket. I stuff the pocket with a Mini Pod and snap a larger pod on top of the pocket. Another way I've used these so that they are always ready to use is to just use the Echos for the day and the Omni at night. That way I can have the pocket already stuffed and pod already snapped in to use ahead of time.
Wash Routine: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same wash routine as the Echo with the same differences in the hook and loop version and the snap version. The only difference is that you need to remember to un-stuff the pocket before washing and you have to stuff the pocket if you're using the diaper that way.
Bang For The Buck: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same great deal as the SoftBums Echo, but with an extra added bonus. You get both an AI2 and a Pocket all in one diaper! That's an awesome deal! Who doesn't love versatility???
Quality & Durability: ♥♥♥♥♥ - Same as the Echo.

This sounds like a great diaper!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I read this review! Our little man will be here soon and we are using bamboo mini pods in our softbums. I will have to think of a way to add to the insert to ensure we don't have too many leaks :)
ReplyDeleteVanessa Petrillo
The Echo does intrigue me... I tend to use prefolds with covers most of the time, and when out and on the go we use pockets... I like the idea of the all in two and would lvoe to try one!
ReplyDeleteNice review. I love the bacon and eggs print. It's too funny
ReplyDeleteI love the great prints these diapers come in! They look nice!
ReplyDeleteLove the organic bamboo pod insert, it's huge...I am guessing it would be worth trying for a heavy wetter ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love their prints! This is one diaper system I haven't tried. I think I would like the Omni better though!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the different pod options!
ReplyDeletejennifercausby at hotmail dot com
I love my Softbums! They are some of my favorite diapers!
ReplyDeleteI currently have all pocket diapers, and have been so hesitant to try something else. I think part of my hesitation is that we are CDing to save money and I don't want to fall in love with something else and have to totally redo my stash! That being said, this was such a great review that I am oh so tempted!
ReplyDeleteI like the options to have snaps or aplix and love that they offer bamboo pods as well! Love the omnipresent stiffed with a mini pod and a snap in pod for Overnight idea!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try one of these diapers forever
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good diaper! I'd love to try it out! =)
ReplyDeleteWith 3 (soon to be 4) in diapers I'm all about one size. This would fit all my babies. Might have to give it a try!
ReplyDeletelove the eggs and bacon. i also hadn't noticed how trim the echo was. I have tried so many different kinds now, however I have yet to try the echo and omni, hoping I can now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reviewing both the echo and the omni! I have the echo and have been wondering how the omni compared! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I really like their rise adjustment, and it's so unique.
ReplyDeletehuntermb3 at gmail dot com
I love that you show the two types side by side for different comparisons. I would not really tell the difference from the website.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try these diapers.... I love the comparison, thank you!
ReplyDeletethat was a great review. i like how you put the two diapers next to each other to compare each different aspect.
ReplyDeleteI think it is great how they fit newborns!
ReplyDeleteI love bamboo! I've been interested in both these diapers.
ReplyDeleteI love Softbums! I would really like to try the snap version. Thanks for the great comparison pictures!
ReplyDeleteI just got an echo in the mail to try, but I would love to win another!
ReplyDeleteVery thorough review. Thanks for showing the different options that SoftBums offers!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh, love the Echo with snaps!!! I SO want to try some Softbums!
ReplyDeleteI love this diaper!! I love the bacon and eggs print!!! So cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the very thorough review. I really love the pocket/AI2 combo. That seems like a neat design and these prints are so cute. I would be willing to try this system with snaps. I don't think I'll ever buy another hook n' loop closure diaper. My baby just takes the diaper right off every time.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor has a bacon and eggs one and I love it! They look super soft and comfy :D
ReplyDeleteThis diaper sounds amazing! I hope to win it so I can try it out :)
ReplyDeleteThis diaper sounds amazing! I hope to win it so I can try it out :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this diaper. I have GroVia AI2s andi really like the concept!
ReplyDeleteI love softbums! We use the echo during the day and the omni with bamboo at night. I haven't tried the snaps yet though.
ReplyDeleteSoftbums makes up 99% of my stash. I love them, but my only complaint is the velcro coming undone in the wash. I would love to get my hands on a few snap omnis!
ReplyDeleteI also bought one of each when they released the new prints. I also prefer the Echo! My husband (months later) just discovered them. He comes from changing the diaper and says, "I really like this one! Why don't we have more of these?". Umm.....were you just asking me to buy more diapers?!
ReplyDeleteYour review totally makes me want to try out an Echo. Hold on, ALL of your reviews end of making me want to try different diapers. Darn you, Chana! ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good diaper!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try the Softbum! Either one would be great. I've been aching to try one!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to use my softbums this July (new edition!)
ReplyDeleteLove this review! Glad u did a comparison as i was a little confused about the difference. Hope to try it soon! Keep those review coming, im obsessed!!
ReplyDeleteLove these diapers, best desgin ever!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review!! You have great comparison pictures!! Very helpful!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review! It's nice to see what the differences are between the Echo and Omni and all the pods. Your video was very helpful also :)
ReplyDeleteThis helps, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to cloth diaper!! Everyone says I am crazy but I have total faith in Softbums. We are due in June and we have a few Softbums in hook and loop to try but snaps might be interesting.
ReplyDeleteI think I like the echo best...
ReplyDeleteI love the Omni! Never tried the Echo but looks just as awesome!
ReplyDeletelooove the omni-would really love to try the echo!
ReplyDeleteGreat review, we love our Softbums! I do prefer the Echo (mainly because of the fit) but we do use our omni a lot when we go on long errands because I can adjust the absorbancy and not have to change quite as often. I would love to try their snap version :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the thorough review- makes me want to check it out!
ReplyDeleteGreat review!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try the snaps and the organic bamboo pod

Love the advice in the article on laundry tabs. Thanks! Love softbums!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the advice. And Love softbums!!!
ReplyDeleteI like that they now come in snaps.
ReplyDeleteLove the in depth review can't wait to try one
ReplyDeleteLove the in depth review can't wait to try one
ReplyDeleteI am so stinking excited that there is now the snap versions! I just wish that the Omni was offered in the same amount of colors/prints as the Echo! And I LOVE bamboo, and next time I get a SB I will definitely be getting a bamboo pod!
ReplyDeleteI am so stinking excited that softbums now comes in snaps! I just wish that the Omni came in as many colors/prints as the Echo! :) I love bamboo and next time I get a new SB I will be ordering some bamboo pods! :)
ReplyDeletecan't wait to start using my softbums in July! (new addition) :)
ReplyDeleteOooh. Sounds like I need to try them out! Tabitha will be here in about a month, and I had about decided to go with the Bum Genius package, but at 2/3rds the price, how can I not give them a shot? :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfully in depth review. I've been intrigued by the Soft Bums brand for a while but never really understood the difference between the Omni and Echo. Thank you for demonstrating the differences!
ReplyDeleteKimberlie T.
Love that you compared both omni and echo and hook and loop/ snaps. This way I can begin to see which I'd like better.
ReplyDeleteJust started using Echos on my one month old. Wish the newborn inserts were a bit bigger - I have the bamboo pods. One newborn insert isn't enough and the big pods are so bulky for this stage
ReplyDeleteNever thought about not having to worry about snaps in the wash. Love the echo now, wish there was an I between Size for pods.
ReplyDeleteI just started using omnis. Would love to try the echo.
ReplyDeleteI love their prints and the slide sizing.
ReplyDeleteI thOught I would like the omni better. It after reading this review I'm excited to try the echo!
ReplyDeleteWe have Softbums for our little one and they are by far one of the best cloth diapers out there!!! I am obsessed with them!! Out next purchase will be one with snaps!!! Love them!!
ReplyDeletewe love our echo. but would love to try an omni. also like that they now come with snaps.
ReplyDeleteI love the toggle system for adjusting too. It's so easy and perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the cute prints! The cuteness is definitely an incentive to buying :)
ReplyDeletei love all the great prints and that it now comes in snaps!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this diaper, thanks for the review! I love snaps and the OS.
ReplyDeletearobinson45 (at) woh.rr.com
I love the echo and even the omni I never use as a pocket diaper I use them both as AI2 diapers I love the ease of just snapping in a new insert. We also use some bamboo inserts the we have in these shells and we just lay them in there and it works perfect! I LOVE softbums! If i could start over I would have a full stash of softbums!
ReplyDeleteThank you for a completely thorough review! I have an omni that I won and have wondered about the difference between it and the echo. Your review finally answered all my questions! Thank you for it and for a chance to win another one! I really, really love the one I have but hubby says we have enough diapers. Enough? How is that possible?
ReplyDeleteI am totally new to modern cloth diapering. I had used the old-fashioned pins an prefolds for three children. Thank you for the review. It helps me understand the different types of diapers out there to choose from. I had not known what an All-in-two was!
ReplyDeletei like this diaper and how easy it adjusts i just wish the velcro was a little bit better,, but im very excited about the snap closure
ReplyDeleteI love softbums - they are my husband's favorites as well. I don't have any snaps because I love the velcro so much - it doesn't curl up like other velcro-closure diapers and the laundry tabs actually WORK! I don't re-use my covers, so I don't really use them like they are intended, but I still love them - they look so stinkin' cute on his little bum! I even got professional pictures taken in a chocolate one. :-)
ReplyDeleteOH my gosh! I love that diaper! Looks so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteOH my Gosh! I love this diaper! It is so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteSoftbums are great diapers and I would love to have more in snaps. I got a whole set before the snaps versions were readily available, and would love to upgrade.
ReplyDeleteLove this. Can't wait to try them!
ReplyDeleteWould love to try one of these diapers...I like that the Omni has the pocket option!
ReplyDeleteUnique brand (eggs and bacon)! I"m new to cloth but we have a baby on the way so I appriciate the review
ReplyDeleterebeccaw2005 at gmail dot com
I looooove our softbums! They are my husband's favorite diaper too. I wish they had the snaps version when we got ours, maybe I'll just have to get a few more :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my SoftBums, seriously the best CD ever!!! Glad I'm not the only one to fall in love with them. =)
ReplyDeletei love this! its all i have in my stash and will ever use :D
ReplyDeleteI've been using Softbums for three months now (since DS was born!) and I find that I definitely prefer the Echo during the day. However, since DS is a heavy wetter, the Omni works best for us at night, since I can use three pods at once!
ReplyDeleteI tried the Omni in Aplix and I really was not a fan. I love that they came out with snaps! I would love to give this one a try for sure.
ReplyDeleteI love the bacon and eggs print and the perfect fit!
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing such great things about this diaper, I'm dying to try one out!
ReplyDeleteI was always curious about SoftBums. You review was really helpful to break it down for me. They both seem like great diapers but I think that I'm leaning more towards to Echo just like you.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice diaper. We've never tried an AI2. Maybe we should!
ReplyDeleteI dont know if I ever would have tried an all in two diaper, but maybe now I will since you say they aren't gross.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried this brand but would.
ReplyDeleteWe love our softbums too!
ReplyDeleteI have to Softbums and love them. I'd like to try the bamboo pods, though.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they came with snaps too now! I've been wanting to try a Softbums for so long, and a snap one might be a good reason to!
ReplyDeleteVery nice review! You definitely helped me better understand cloth diapers in general and now I really want to try them out, especially this brand!
ReplyDeletei am so excited for the snaps! i love softbums and cant wait to add to my stash with snaps!
ReplyDelete-Laura Luna
I love my Echo! I have one and would love another. I am really thankful for such a thorough review of both products. I want to try out an Omni too.
ReplyDeleteunreliable wash tabs are a big deal - i hate it when they come undone and stick to everything in the laundry!
ReplyDeletewow so cute! i hope to win so i can try these!
ReplyDeletethey look awesome
ReplyDeletetHIS SEEMS LIKE IT MIGHT BE CHEAPER IN THE LONG RUN... pLUS THEY ARE CUTE
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving such great perspective on both diapers and closures! I'm fairly new to all this, and deciding which to try first is the hardest!
ReplyDeleteAwesome review! my husband & i are debating cloth diapers!
ReplyDeletei_love_you28@myway.com
I'm thinking about switching to cloth diapering so thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteThey both sound great, but I think I lean more towards the Echo after hearing that it is more narrow. (My daughter is little!) As for the Omni, is the snap for the AI2 exposed if being used solely as a pocket? I do like the idea of using the AI2 and pocket at the same time for extra stuffin'. ngiraldi at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am new to cloth diapering and this is incredibly helpful!!
ReplyDeleteI am expecting my first in May and doing my best to digest as much information as I can before then. Thank you so much for this (and your other) helpful and detailed posts. I'll put the Echo on my "to buy" list - now if only I knew boy/girl, skinny/chunky, weight... Can't wait put the diapers I've already acquired to use on our Little One!
ReplyDeleteNikki - No, the snap is not exposed when the Omni is used as a pocket. It's covered by the lining. You could also still snap your insert while it's in the pocket too.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad these diapers come in snaps now though I agree I like the look of the aplix diaper better. I would love to try one of these out!
ReplyDeleteIt is good to see a side by side comparison like this, I like how trim the Echo is
ReplyDeleteheididaily at gmail dot com
i like the hook and loop that is square and the backside is cloth (unlike BG's)there is no curling then.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try a snaps Softbums! Alas they are so elusive!
ReplyDeleteAmazing size difference from smallest setting to largest setting!!
ReplyDeleteSoftBums is AWESOME, we have the eggs and bacon print too!
ReplyDeleteI love how they fit newborns. It is hard to find something that truly fits a newborn. Love that bacon and eggs print.. very appropriate for a newborn :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very helpful review I've been thinking about getting a softbums diaper for my one month twin boys. Thank you for reviewing.
ReplyDeleteI've never used cloth diapers, but it's definitely something that I want to try with our new baby.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to read your review of the Softbums! I have a couple of these in my stash and now I am just waiting on the arrival of my baby. You have answered many of my questions. I can't wait to try these out myself. I agree with you...I wish they had more patterns.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great comparision! i have been curious about the difference but havent been able to try these out yet! Very Helpful!
ReplyDeleteThe omni seems like it would be great at holding in leaks - especially at night!
ReplyDeleteI like the slimness of the side panels. They seem good for babes with chunky legs (like my baby).
ReplyDeletecmcosman at yahoo.com
I like how your video showed how to adjust the leg openings. My baby's legs and waist aren't proportional, but this diapers looks like it might work for him.
ReplyDeleteThese look so cute! I can't get their website to show me ALL the prints though...obviously I'm screwing up somehow. But oh well. So many options :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you had experience with three of their diapers with this review... and 6 months worth of experience for two of them. Makes me feel good about your review :-)
ReplyDeleteI love softbums. It was very interesting to see what other's think about them also.
ReplyDeleteLove the cute prints and that the diaper now comes in snaps.
ReplyDeleteGreat information! Just starting out and I have similar misgivings about all in two systems. So, thansk for your perspective!
ReplyDeleteI love the puppy print
ReplyDeleteI like the puppy print
ReplyDeleteI love that there are bamboo pods!
ReplyDeleteOk I'm glad I read this all and that you were completely honest! I'd love to try one of these diapers but I'll have to remember to remind hubby to be careful of the pads. Plus, now that I can get snaps it will be much better! I love velcro, but if it's going to wear, not so much. But the bang for the buck on these diapers is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome green. It would fit right into my establishing rainbow! LOL
ReplyDeleteI also use both the echo and the omni, but I only have aplix closures right now. I like the echo better but I also have a skinny baby so the fit is just better on her skinny legs. I would love to try them in snaps though!! Great review.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this review i've been wanting to try these forever!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to win this diaper, it seems amazing! I love the toggle sizing, thanks for the review Chana!
ReplyDeleteI'm still puzzled by the AIO/Pocket option, but I'd love to try the Omni out for myself!
ReplyDeleteSorry if I didn't explain it well enough. The Omni's are essentially a pocket diaper, but they have a snap inside the pocket so you can also use it like an AI2 like the Echo. It just gives you more options.
Deletegreat review, echo seems better for trimness =)

ReplyDeleteThe versatility of the Omini as an AI2 or Pocket Diaper is an attractive feature. I like the idea of the slide2size and because of that feature I am very interested in trying out the diapers on my newborn when he arrives in June 2012.
ReplyDeleteI have bought one of each of the popular brands of cloth diapers (Fuzzi Bunz, Bum Genius, Thirsties, itti Bitti Tutto, Bummis, Blueberry, Kissas, etc). I have been building my CD stash! I don't have this one yet but I am always looking for new diapers to purchase and try!
Great review!
Haha! You sound like me! I bought one of just about every diaper out there.
DeleteLove this review because I never considered this cloth diaper before! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love the side by side comparison photos. When shopping for them online, it's hard to SEE what the differences are. With the side by side photos, it really helps!
ReplyDeleteGreat trim fit!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried an AI2 system, but this looks like a great one to try first!
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks like a crazy versatile CD!
ReplyDeleteThese reviews are awesome! I'm just now starting to look into CD (my son is 4 months old)and have no clue where to start, but this was very helpful. I can't wait to check out your other reviews!
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds like a great diaper! I've never tried an AI2 yet but i'd like to!
ReplyDeletei never understood the two in one system either.

I love how trim the Echo seems. The bacon and egg print is too cute. What adorable models:-)
ReplyDeleteAn AI2 system is something I thought I'd stay away from, as I already have my stash in place. But your review has me thinking twice.
ReplyDeleteLove the softbums!
ReplyDeleteThe prints are fabulous as well as I love that you can truly use this one size diaper on a newborn. I'm looking at some of the other diapers in my stash thinking no way this is gonna fit straight out of the shoot!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reviewing these!
Been dying to try the snaps! My velcros is wearing :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great review! I have heard such great things about Softbums. I may have to get some!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about cloth diapering, but it's kind of confusing and this review was really helpful. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try Softbums- both the Echo and Omni sound like great diapers!
ReplyDeleteI'd really like to try Softbums- both the Omni and Echo sound like great diapers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review! I just have a couple questions. My first is due in September, so I'm new to all of this, but after tons of research, I think I like the All in 2 systems the best.
ReplyDeleteHow easily could you use prefolds instead of the snap-in pods in each of them? Also, do you think the Echo would be better for newborns because it's a little thinner?
You could totally use prefolds instead of the snap in pods. I would use the smallest prefolds you could find though ... especially if you get the echo because they're really trim. Yes, I do think the Echo is better for newborns due to the trimness. Linc is a pretty big guy now and I still prefer the Echo.
DeleteThese look awesome- I love snap diapers :)
ReplyDeleteThanks
We love softbums and would love to try the snap version... only have aplix so far. They are by far my favorite diaper... easy changes and no stuffing required!
ReplyDeleteGreat Review! Saved me some research time :)
ReplyDeleteIf both of these really fit down to 6 pounds, I'm in. I have lots of one size diapers from my toddler, but none of them fit her the first couple of months.
ReplyDeletethe price has been a deterrent for me trying either the Echo or the Omni, but your review has pushed me over the edge - i need to try one, or both!
ReplyDeleteI've never had any luck with pockets. I have found that the pee can make it out of the diaper faster than it can soak into the pocket. I end up putting the liners inside the diaper but not in the pocket. It works.
ReplyDeleteThe echo would be amazing for a newborn with the trimmer fit. And they're so cute! I personally prefer the look of the hook and loop to the snaps, but still both very adorable for a fluffy butt!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the Omni over the Echo because I have a big baby boy and they give a little better fit. I love both of them though.
ReplyDeleteI really like that they have these in snaps now. My baby can undo aplix.
ReplyDeleteWe have one aplix softbums but would love to try the snap version. I love how easy they are to use. Definitely daddy proof

I have an Omni and I would love to try an Echo. I'm so happy they come in snaps now. I'm not a fan of aplix.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a very thorough review but I still can't decide between the Echo or Omni! I might just have to buy them both!
ReplyDeleteI will be starting to cloth diaper in June and have already bought both echos and omnis along with some other brands and i think these will be my fave dipes!
ReplyDeleteI will be starting to cloth diaper in June and have already bought both echos and omnis along with some other brands and i think these will be my fave dipes!
ReplyDeleteI think I would like the versatility of the omni more.
ReplyDeleteWe have the Omni and I love it (in aplix)... now I have, to have the Omni in snaps!
ReplyDeleteI really want to try an AI2 diaper eventually, but right now we're going for cheaper diapers. I don't think I'll buy any aplix, mostly because their resale value can be lower after the aplix has worn down. Also because I don't want the baby to be able to remove his diaper lol. But these look like a good buy. Love the bacon and eggs print!
ReplyDeleteawesome review!!! your LO is so cute. I agree, softbums are great. I love them. I have a mix of echo and omni and love them pretty equally.
ReplyDeleteI love how much trimmer the echo is! the print is super cute too
ReplyDeleteI need to try the echo thanks for the review of these diapers :)
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I love that bacon and egg pattern!!
ReplyDeleteThis was a really great and thorough review! I've always wanted to try SoftBums (both the Echo and Omni) and your comparison was very helpful - especially about the size difference between the Echo and Omni shells (that the Echo is a bit trimmer between the legs). My daughter is 2.5 yrs so I've got a little bit of time left to try out a new diaper system and it's gonna be SoftBums for sure!
ReplyDeleteOnce again this is a diaper ive never tried. I can say i use all in two alvababy and love that i can remove the insert.
ReplyDeleteThey have some adorable prints!
ReplyDeleteThat bacon and eggs print just kills me. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love that they now come with snaps! Their diapers look so soft and comfy. I'd love to try one.
ReplyDeletethank you for such a thorough review! i love that they are now offering snaps!
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of Softbums (although at first I hated them because I got a bum diaper that literally fell apart at the seams... ) but I'd love to try their bamboo insert!
ReplyDeleteExcellent review! I think I'd love to try the Echo because I don't have very many super trim diapers as of yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by this toggle system for sizing!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try these Softbums for a while now. I couldn't decide between the Omni or the Echo so I'm very happy for this review. We are AI2 fans so the Echo is probably our best option. I am glad to hear it is a trim fit.
ReplyDeleteThese look so cool ! I hope I can try them soon!
ReplyDeleteI am dying to try these diapers out! They seem like they get much smaller for a newborn baby and won't be quite as bulky as most one size diapers.
ReplyDeleteThis diaper sounds great! I would love to win one of them! The prints are cute and I love the snaps!
ReplyDeleteThey sound good and look good. I love the designs.
