Oh yes! We all know that when you have a new baby nobody can resist taking a million photos. There's just something about those cute little toes and those cute little fingers and that baby soft skin that makes you want to bust out your camera and capture every second of their every day. Not to mention you've waited 9 months to see that beautiful face and you know that with each day it will change and grow as they go from an newborn, to an infant, to a toddler, to a preschooler ... Yikes! Yes. Photos are a must and you can bet I'll be taking them all the time when Lincoln gets here.
Now photos that I've taken are one thing. They're cute, quick, and capture the moment, but I need something amazing that I can frame and put on my wall. I have a whole wall going down my hallway that is dedicated to pictures of our family. Very few of these pictures are taken by myself or my husband. Most are actually taken by my sister Mandy Robledo who is a photographer. She's great! She has an eye like no other and can capture her subject in the most candid of moments with just the right light and just the right background with just the right expression on their face that makes you glad you'll never forget that moment for as long as you live. Yes, you can bet she'll be doing a photo shoot for Lincoln when he gets here.
Now I'll have the baby, and I have the photographer, but you can't have a newborn baby photo shoot without a super cute outfit to wear. That's where Pink Pumpkin Crochet Studio comes in. I found this cute little shop on Etsy and fell in love with all of their products instantly. They mostly cater to photographers looking to build up a great prop stash, but anyone can buy them and you can use them all the time (not just a photo shoot). Her items are all hand crocheted and include things such as hats, headbands, cocoons, blankets, diaper covers and more. Most are all ready to ship, but she'll do custom items as well. Out of all her items I fell in love with the cocoons and hats the most. She has an ADORABLE Catapillar Cocoon and Hat set that is to die for! Here are a few other items in her shop that are also to die for.
Now, if it was up to me, I would have chosen the Hungry Caterpillar outfit. But this being our first boy, and my husband being a huge football fan, and this being football season ... I decided to go for the Hooded Football Cocoon. It's super cute and I love the masculine feel of it. I chose the cocoon over the football hat and diaper cover since it's winter and I thought it would keep him warmer. Who knows ... if Lincoln comes in time this will most likely be his Halloween costume as well and I don't want him to freeze his little booty off. So there you have it! We're so ready for Lincoln to come and can't wait for his first football photo shoot. Whoo Hoo!
Till then though I had my sister test out the cocoon and let me know what she thought. I'm sure you all remember that she just had her little boy Max just a few weeks ago. Not being huge football fans themselves she wasn't sure how she'd like the photos, but she added the outfit into her photo shoot. Both her and her husband LOVE IT and quickly became one of their favorites! The pictures came out so cute and the cocoon was so easy to work with. She loved the quality, the design, and it was easy to slide on and off of her little guy during the photo shoot. The only thing that she did note was that it would probably fit a bit better on a larger baby (her baby is in the low 7lb range). The photos still came out great, but on a larger baby it would fit perfect. After seeing my sister's photo shoot of her baby Max, I'm even more excited that I chose the football cocoon for our son Lincoln. He's going to look so cute it it!!! Don't take my word for it though. Check out the photos below for yourself.
There is no question about it. I'm very pleased with Pink Pumpkin Crochet Studio and their product that I received. I've actually been cruising their site recently because I want a cute hat to add to our photo session when Lincoln gets here. It's just so hard to decide between all her cute products though. I'm going back and forth between the Little Mister Hootie Hoot Owl Beenie in Brown and the Teddy Earflap Beenie in Brown. Ack!!! I might just have to get them both.
Hope you enjoyed this post and it helps you come up with some great ideas for your newborn ... or older baby's photo shoot. Don't forget to check out all that Pink Pumpkin Crochet Studio has to offer. I guarantee you'll find something you fall in love with. If you do end up getting something, make sure to post pictures of your cute little munchkin in it on my Facebook page. I'd love to see them!!! Till then keep checking back for more great posts as I progress through my Adventures In Fluff ... and other mommy stuff.
